According to the waste of paper that is the Worthing Advertiser, Worthing officially only has 3 homeless people. Not that I one to pour scorn on anything from officialdom, but I simply cannot accept Worthing has such a low figure of homelessness.

I have no contradictory evidence that proves otherwise, but when I know of at least five homeless people in Worthing, you have to say the bilge that comes from the council should not be believed.

Worthing's Best Jewellery Shop

Is Worthing the lost cause? Not when it has fine Jewellery shops such as Zoo Jewellery, Worthing is far from a lost cause.

It was birthday present time the other day so I thought that I would look for some Jewellery, it would make a nice change from the gift vouchers I usually get everyone. The only Celtic I knew about before I went into the store was the football team in green hoops. But I was welcomed in-store by a huge selection of Celtic Jewellery. To cut a long story short, I went through the contents of the store and was none the wiser as to what I should buy. (which is why I get gift vouchers)

Now thanks to the team in the Zoo Jewellery store; I was helped into making a choice of Jewellery. To be honest I think the girls in-store wanted to go home! The silver brooch I chose was well received by the female entity who received it.

Without their help there is no chance that I would have made a choice.

There is more that householders and businesses can do to reduce energy consumption and reduce their energy bills.

I have been made aware of a new set of energy efficient lighting products that claim to offer 'dramatic' electricity savings.

What with all major suppliers of domestic and business energy continuing to raise the cost of energy, householders and business owners need to do more in order to save themselves money in the long term.

If you know that you can save energy by replacing a bulb or the transformer unit, surely you would?

The 'Save It Easy' range of energy efficient lighting products claims to be able to halve maintenance demands, if this is the case their range of products needs to be brought into the public arena sooner rather than later.

Personally speaking, my domestic electricity bill is getting beyond reason. I and my family are extremely careful about the use of electricity. My five year daughter is very cautious with her use of electric and turns off lighting when she is not in a room.

As with anything, it is about education, if we can educate ourselves to be more efficient with our overall use of electric, I would be surprised if consumption could not be reduced by as much as 20%.

Tony Blair was right to criticise appliances that are constantly left on standby. It is an absolute waste of power. Let us take the average family lounge and consider the waste generated by products on standby:

DVD Player
Video Player
Satellite/Cable System
Games Console

By having the ability of totally removing the power to the appliances when they are not in use would surely have an effect on the average household electricity bill over the course of a year.

Quite simply, our electricity consumption habits have to change.

With my latest bills from British Gas killing my spare beer money for another quarter, I thought that it was time for me to look at finding an alternative energy supplier.

iA few days of respite for the scandalous goings on in the Borough of Worthing, I've had a nice holiday in Las Vegas.

Admittedly I did not gamble as much as Worthing Borough Council does with our money, but then again, I don't have millions of pounds to waste like those buggers!

So what's new in Worthing? Nothing, oh the beach fair is on, and we get to waste shed loads of cash on Fireworks! Marvellous.

But don't worry our children's schools have got plenty of teachers and there are no homeless people in Worthing and our hospital is one of the best in the country!

Dear Worthing Borough Council, just in case you hadn't of noticed, the town is still falling apart and all you can do is spend money on stupid fireworks - hip hip hooray! Another gold star for showing extreme levels of stupidity - AGAIN!

Worthing for Tourists - It's a Joke

The family and I thought we'd go and have a bite to eat down at Marine Gardens on the Sunday just gone (16th July). It was a gloriously hot day, and lunch out seemed like the right thing to do.

For those of you that don't know Marine Gardens, here is how Worthing Borough Council 'big it up'.

A small neat ornamental garden on the seafront laid out in 1930. This seafront site lies 1.25 miles west of the Pier and has a cafeÃ©, pavilion, bowling green, putting green, ornamental gardens and a pond with public conveniences including disabled facilities. The resident bowling club on site is Marine Gardens Bowling Club which may have vacancies for new members.

I can't tell you how mad I was on Sunday when my little one wanted to go and see the fish in the ornamental pond, only to find the pond completely empty, needless to say she was disappointed.

Here's the excuse as to why:

We apologise for the Pond being drained during the whole of 2006. Works to repair leaks and install a recirculatory pump are being proposed for 2007/8 financial year. The drought conditions prevalent at this time also preclude its refilling, this is based on advice from Southern Water.

Low and behold as I was researching this blog I checked the Worthing Council site and found a notice of apology. Whilst this is all very good, do the brains at WBC not think that a notice by the pond would also be appropriate?

Personally, I find the last part of the notice extremelyderisoryy. The Worthing district is not yet under a full drought order, so to push the blame onto Southern Water is a cop-out! WBC are simply using this to disguise the fact they are inept in the upkeep of the tourist facilities in Worthing.

Well, if Worthing Borough Council are that skint, we really are in trouble! I'd love to know how much the proposed cost of repair is, surely we are not talking thousands?

My question isthiss; why the hell has someone from the council not had a good look at the location?

The unfilled pond is an eyesore, and watching the many people who went to view the fish on Sunday and then left disappointed was beyond belief.

As a holiday destination, surely the council should be busting a gut to have Worthing's limited attractions working at full steam. Let's face it, Worthing has inadequate appeal to the most broad-minded of people, so when you have an asset such as Marine Gardens, why starve it of its natural charm?

To me this is another instance of the buffoons running our local services, getting it wrong AGAIN!

I'm sorry to taint all the people who areemployedd by Worthing Borough Council with the same brush, but in my eyes and in the eyes of people I talk too, the service provided by WBC is shocking, simply put WBC could not run a bath, let alone be in charge of millions of pounds of public money!

I will be posting an example of the backward thinking of Worthing Borough Council and how they are happy to spend our money outside of the borough when the services were available to them from a local company at a better cost saving, that is for another blog.

You really are feckless morons.

On another note, can anyone tell me why the cafe at Marine Gardens stops serving dinner dead on 2pm. I can understand this policy during week days, however on a Saturday and Sunday, I can see money being thrown away hand over foot.

To me it seems draconian, infantile, lazy and during peak season utterly pathetic!

But hey we're only customers, in the eyes of the Worthing Borough Council's high-flying tourist office we obviouslydon'tt matter.

It backs up my argument that the role of the Mayor of Worthing requires serious examination.

I have passed comment on each of the events that Mayor Wye had for this week.

Monday 5th June 2006

Event1: Mayor's Charity Team meeting, Mayor's Parlour. - TIME 5:00pm

Mr Worthing says: So what was going on between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm? Was it a round of Golf, or was the Mayor up at the Freemasons lodge?

Event 2 - 6:30pm: Attend Youth Council meeting, The Place Youth Cafe, 24 Marine Parade.

Mr Worthing says: Vaguely commendable, but I would like to see the minutes of this meeting.

Mr Worthing says: Excellent, Major Wye will see the lambs to the slaughter as they train on how to die; courtesy of TonyBlair'ss policy on sending them to Iraq and Afghanistan for illegal wars in sovereign countries.

Thursday 8th June

Event 1 - 3:45pm - Attend Abbeyfield 50th Anniversary Party, 8 Southey Road. Met by Mrs Helga Clawson. Mayor to circulate among residents and guests and propose toast to next 50 years of Abbeyfield.

Mr Worthing says: Another day, another single non-event to attend. Why do these places feel they have to have some no-mark Mayor congratulate them. Surely it would be more appropriate for the owner of theestablishmentt to congratulate all the people that have contributed to its success over the last 50 years!

Mr Worthing says: Another waste of time, all you need is the God Squad rambling on. With the proposed changes with our refuse collection about to happen, surely the Mayor has good intelligence on this subject. A dumb appointment and a total waste of time.

Event 3 - Time 2:00pm Attend 70th Anniversary Celebrations St Lawrence's Church, Sea Place. Met by Nina Alliston/Revd Butt. Mayor to judge children's colouring competition, look at the Flower Festival, show presence at Police Stand, Fire Brigade, concert activities.

MrWorthing says: Another date with the church, this time the establishment has used a colouring competition to entice children to enter the world of a bullshit God that does notexistt, not to mention the hardcore paedophiles.

Is it that Vicars and their like are the modern day forms of the child catcher from 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'?

Nice to know the Mayor was going to spend some time with the Police and the Fire Brigade. More clap trap, as services are continually reduced, professionals have to endure the incumbent Mayor and a photo opportunity! I'd tell him to f*ck off!

MrWorthing says: A great achievement to live that long and fair play to Mrs Gordon, but why the hell would she want a complete stranger coming to see her to wish her a happy birthday. Watch out for this photo opportunity in the Herald.

Event 2- Time 1:00pm: West Tarring Boys' Club 24 hour Table Tennis Marathon, The Lido, Worthing Seafront. Met by Cllr Hazel Thorpe. Mayor to officially close event and thank boys for taking part and thank supporters and organisers of event.

I am sure the boys will be thrilled at someone with a huge moustache congratulating them. The only smiles they will have is from the piss taking they will be doing about the funny oldweirdy bloke with a rusted bath chain around his neck!

Event 3- Time 2:55pm: Royal Engineers Association Regimental Standard Laying Up, QAHH. Gifford House, Boundary Road. Met by Jack Chitty, Chairman.

Another non-event in my book, but at least the Mayor will be treated to more tea and cake.

An Idea for Worthing Mayor - Tom Wye

OK, I am sick to the back teeth of countless, pointless self-publicising pictures of the Mayor of Worthing appearing in the local rag.

Why?

Quite simply because it is a waste of absolute time.

I have a suggestion for the new Mayor of Worthing, Mr Tom Wye (A very apt surname).

Instead of fannying about opening a charity shop or getting a free lunch to an old people's home,, why don't you do something really positive and useful with your time as Mayor of Worthing.

How about spending a couple of days a week going into the local primary schools and get your hands mucky helping the children of your bourough in learning to read.

Some could argue that this is a teachers job, some would argue it is the parents responsibility as well. To be fair, I would agree with both of those views.

But surely the bath-chain yielding Mayor of Worthing would gain far greater satisfaction frm helping the children of the borough gain an advantage for tomorrow?

Surely that has to be more effective than re-opening the Goring Road branch of the Abbey National Building Society, which your predecessor can lay claim too.

I'm sorry, but can anyone tell me what good a Mayor does for this town, it's all for self promotion, and don't give me all that charity crap.

We all give to charity, but we don't need our picture in the paper telling the borough what sound people we are, we do it because we genuinely care.

Mr Mayor, Tom, I challenge you to offer something different, get out there and make a difference, don't just turn up to the latest photo shoot, do something that will make the people of Worthing proud to have a Mayor and not just some pompous arse who likes to see their own image in the Herald attending some complete bollocks non-event!

Southern Water - Wasting Water Again

Southern Water was hit by the SAS in May as the 'Surfers Against Sewage' as the group demonstrated outside the companies Worthing head office offering employees of the wasteful water company a car wash with treated sewage wastewater.

SAS are angry that Southern Water are continuing with plands to build a new sewage treatment plant in Brighton and Hove that will waste 95 Million Waters of water a day by discharging it to sea! This water could be reused.

Considering that an Olympic size swimming pool takes 375,000 litres of water to fill, this is a staggering amount of water that Southern Water are preparing to pump out to sea every day!

Still, I am sure that by ensuring that my taps are not dripping, I'll be doing my bit to ensure that Southern Water have some water left, because lets face it, those useless bastards couldn't keep a goldfish.

Richard Hardy, SAS Campaigns Director said: "Southern Water is encouraging its customers to conserve water yet it is making its own plans to waste it with the Brighton and Hove proposal.

By incorporating an extra level of treatment on the Brighton and Hove sewage works plans there is huge potential to save water, to be a more sustainable company, improve water quality in local recreational waters and give customers value for money. It would also ease reduce the likelihood of drought orders and hosepipe/sprinkler bans being enforced in future".

We all know the drought problem is not so much that we are not getting enough rain, it is a fact that Southern Water waste too much water and then try to shoulder the blame on to the consumers!

Well Southern Water, if you do stop my water supply this summer, I will be stopping my direct debit and I will do my level best to ensure that everyone else does as well.

If Southern Water wants to screw us, lets bankrupt the company, it's time the people of this country stood up to these corporate bullies!

And as for the executives who work in the Worthing HQ, I have a suggestion for you, turn right from your main entrance, take the third exit at the roundabout down the A259 and then take the first exit at the Northbrook roundabout.

If you now follow the road straight down you will eventually have to make stop.

Now be careful, if you don't stop you may end of getting a little wet, there is a small resource of water, its called the English Channel!

Whilst you are here, I would like you to get out of your executive car and try taking a look at looking at the expanse of blue in your midst.

Then after you have taken in its splendour, why don't you do the decent thing and get off your fat arses and invest some of our money in a desalination plant and take some of the water from here. It's not likely to run out, global warning is seeing to that!

And then, you can stop your fecking whinging and your ludicrous claims of drought.

BAD Water Management - Swimming Pool for Sale!

It's official - 'First Drought Order for 11 Years' in now in force!

Personally, I would like to thank the water companies and the government for doing so much to not avert this problem.

The trouble is from what I can see, the profit led privatised water companies are not doing enough to fix the leaks that is costing us thousands of gallons of water every day.

So why is it, that we the consumer are the ones that are going to suffer!

Because the Government expect us to put up with it, because as a nation when it comes to saying enough is enough we are weak.

OFWAT & Southern Water - You stink

The Water Companies tell us that as consumers, 'The general public' are needlessly wasting water.

Well Southern Water I have news for you, if I have to get my water from a standpipe you can FORGET me paying any form of water bill, you won't be able to cut me off will you!

As a nation we have become complaceant and wasteful, you only have to look at the rubbish we throw each year to see how we disregard the planets natural resources on a daily basis.

Don't get me wrong, I am not an ECO Warrior, I do though have enough sense to know that we cannot keep on producing the waste and stripping the planet of its natural resources at its current rate.

Enough is enough!

In my own household, I insist that the water is not left running when we brush our teeth and where possible water is recycled.

It is a shame that the younger members of my family cannot enjoy the 'Ultimate Splash Attack' that I purchased at a cheap rate last year.

What's more, what is this going to do for the resellers of Swimming Pool and Hot Tub equipment.

Needless to say, there are going to be the endless boneheads who will ignore the drought order.

I will have no sympathy for anyone caught not complying with the drought order, I hope they get a heavy fine.

Although Worthing is not affected by the ban immediatly, you can be rest assured that its coming. Surbiton and East Surrey Water Company is not a million miles way from us, and similar circumstances dictate the drought orders.

We are in a mess with our water for a number of reasons, they include:

Overuse by end users
Not enough investment by Southern Water
Crap water management by the water companies
Not enough capture of rainwater and waste water
Too many leaks that are simply not fixed
Too many people now reside in the South East

On this occasion, I cannot solely blame the government. The privatised water companies, and the general public need to be aware that we can all do a lot more to avert this crisis.

However, I do think the Chief Executive of Southern Water should resign.

To make it worse, many of the water compoanies are owned by the French - Need I say anymore!

Worthing Borough Council Waste OUR MONEY AGAIN

The more you look at what is going on in Worthing/Government this country, the more it makes the blood boil.

This time I did not have to look any further than this blog to find a subject to write about, and yes it involves Worthing Borough Council seemingly spending more tax payers cash on stupid web exposure.

My argument comes from the fact that Worthing borough Council appeared on this very blog via Google Adsense. In case the ad has now disappeared, I took the liberty of grabbing a screen shot.

Although this is an initiative that appears to be nationwide at the current time, the promotion of local services should not come from our local government paying Google for the privelege. Google is a cash cow for Google; end of!

As services continue to get squeezed and costs are cut at any possible time, the decision by local/central government to fund an Adwords campaign seems ludicrous.

Here's some shock news for the idiots in control of our cash who devised this ludicrous initiative:

The site you are paying Google to promote, is no#1 in the natural search results for the Search Term 'Public Services
Worthing Borough Council are the #1 site for the search term 'Worthing'

Why pay Google to advertise these services when both sites can be found organically?

Residents of Worthing, I have a message to you, the next time that a vehicle needs removing or you have a problem with rats or there are not enough places at the local school for your child.

Don't contact Worhing Borough Council or West Sussex County Council, contact GOOGLE instead, after all that is where our money is heading!

Local Election Results - Who Cares? We're Still Going To Get Screwed!

Another election, and another set of useless, egotistical feckless knob ends are assigned by the MINORITY to look after the affairs of the Borough of Worthing.

Personally speaking, I didn't vote, what's the point?

Firstly not one of the candidates for my ward bothered to deliver any kind of propaganda through my door, neither did any of the lazy bastards bother to knock on my door and canvass my vote or ask my opinion!

I have a comment for those candidates fighting for my vote.

WHO THE FECK ARE YOU? WHERE THE FECK WERE YOU?

I noticed the LIB DEM candidate Keith Sunderland was complaining about the low turnout.

Well I have news for Mr Sunderland, it's no wonder there was a poor fecking turnout, when you, yes YOU, cannot be arsed to go round and speak to people.

No wonder you didn't win your ward, here's a clue as to why, it's because your fecking useless!

And whilst we are on the subject, I would like to supply local councilors and would be local councilors with two ground breaking concepts.

Try getting some common sense, an empty matchbox has more inside it than wannabe local councilors.
There are another 48 weeks in the year when you can come and see the electorate; just think of the rapport you would build with the people of Worthing should you bother to speak to us other than when you are after our vote!

I have no doubt that if any of the local councilor's bothered to put themselves in front of voters over the course of 12 months, we would feel more obliged to get off are backsides and go and vote.

So Mr LOSER Sunderland, when you next plan a campaign, if you beg nicely, I'll consider looking after your campaign and getting you some publicity. After all I guarantee that more people have read this blog than anything to do with your campaign.

As for us poor people of Worthing, if you don't like the next 12 months of local politics, then do something about it - VOTE

Hooray, it's local election day, it's the time of year where we vote in faceless monkeys for a years jolly at the local council offices who then devise daft ideas to spend our cash!

Worthing could be the first borough to promote a face that will make you site up and take notice!

May I present Major Tom Wye MBE.

Sadly Major Wye is not in my ward so I cannot vote for him.

Lets hope he doesn't lose by a single vote, that would be devastating as I for one would be voting for the Major elect.

OK, here's my reason for being such a fan of Major Tom Wye MBE -

Anyone who wears a moustache such as the one that lost Amazon tribes can live in is deserving of anyone's vote.

No matter what your politics, this instantly recognisable character surely has old-school values to match his old-school appearance.

Come on Major, when you head-up the council please, please, please instill some draconian measures to make Worthing a safer, better place to live.

Should you need any assistance in policy creation, here are my tips for a better Worthing.

School buses/Walk to school policy - How many lazy buggers needlessly block our roads with trips to the local zoos when dropping their little cherubs off in the morning - I say - BAN THEM - Make them walk if within a certain distance, if they are too far to walk, supply a bus
Recreational Facilities - We need more, Can anyone tell me what there is to do in Worthing apart from get pissed or get fat?
Religion - It's time to ban all forms of religion in the borough.
Abusive Piss-Heads - Lets reclaim the town-centre at the weekend, anyone caught being abusive or aggressive at the weekends should be placed in stocks in the town centre during the week - The little gob-shites wouldn't be as cocky then with a few residents pelting them with some rotten fruit and urine ridden nappies.
Cure the homeless problem, INSIST that the disgrace that is Teville Gate is used to create into community homes where Worthing could boast having a cure for the known long-term homeless community.

Major Tom Wye - Worthing needs strength, come on and kick some ass! Don't be another, get your picture as many times as possible in a week and scare children mayor like the departing Nick 'I ate all the burgers at Old Nicks' John.

But then what do local politicians care, lets face it your all only in for your inflated egos.

Life Coach for Worthing People

Personally, this is not my cup of tea, but do a search for Life Coaching and you will be served with a multitude of results.

It would appear that many people just don't have a clue how to get more out of their lives!!

Personally, I cannot see the problem, it's easy to analyse one's personal success.

Job: Are you happy, do you earn enough cash?
Partner: Are you happy with them, or have you got to upgrade to a better model?
Home: Is it your palace of dreams or a stop-gap?
Health: Are you healthy or do you need to lose some of that excessive fat
Car: Are you happy going from A-B, or do you want something to boost your ego?

So there you have it, 5 questions that you should answer honestly. If you answered 'yes' to the five questions then you have no need to improve yourself, but if you bulked on any one of them, then yes you need to buck your ideas up.

So you ask, what the hell has this got to do with Worthing?

Easy; whilst I was in a pub the other day (in Worthing) , the subject of self-improvement came to the fore. It was after a short period of time that a member of the drinking clan said they had been receiving personal life coaching and business coaching.

Well excuse me for spitting my drink out in shock, but I was absolutely flabbergasted about this. Here was this drinking partner divulging they had been using a life coach over the last few months.

After the initial shock of the confession I quizzed them further. Without wanting to be insensitive, I asked them why they had taken this course? The answer was even more shocking than the initial confession.

This individual had no longer felt in control of their destiny and felt they required direction and enrolled a life coach in order to achieve this. I can't say this would appeal to me, after all the service is not free, when you employ the services of a life coach you are paying for their time.

But I suppose if this service is something that helps you progress in life then who am I to question its merits.

So there you have it, if you are suicidal, need more cash, a better job, a better partner and you live in Worthing, it's about time you considered a personal life coach.

Paedophile in Worthing

Yes, I am afraid that Worthing has its fair share of scummy lowlife paedophiles. Four low-life freaks have pleased guilty to trying attract young girls by writing their mobile numbers on train toilet doors. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/4966768.stm

As it happens one of these freaks resides in Worthing. Mr Ian Jones, 42, of Rowlands Road admitted conspiring to sexually assault, attempting to cause or incite a child to engage in sexual activity and four counts of criminal damage with intent to commit a sexual offence.

Having someone of this nature live under our very noses leads me to think:

Why do we bother even keeping filth like this alive? It is a drain on our resources to lock these freaks away.
There is no medical cure for a paedophile, I do though have a social cure for them - its called the death penalty!
Why are these dangerous scum allowed to live in society anonymously, at the very lest they should be birched so as our children can easily identity them. Even a child could work out that a person that carried the word 'PEADO' scarred into there forehead would be a person to avoid.

And before you do-gooders start to go on about human rights, let me tell you this, you would not be damned charitable if it were your child. If you haven't got children, then I am sorry but you will not understand.

In my book, these sickos have no rights, they were forfeited as soon as they discovered any sexual feelings towards children

It's time to bring back the death penalty! I do not think that for one minute we would be short of volunteers to give these sickos a lethal injection, I say stand them up and give me the needle, then watch the drop like the sack of shit they are.

What makes it worse is that Peadophiles are a protected species? WHY? Surely it is our children that should be protected. If we want to start making this world a safer place, lets start by getting tough on all the sexual perverts and freaks and give them a sharp exit from this planet.

Worthing Parks - A safe place to score!

Two Worthing residents were appalled to find a collection of syringes when walking past Beach House Park in Brighton Road. This is shocking news for a number of reasons:

Cash strapped Worthing Hospital could have collected them for stock.
It highlights that Junkies are selfish scumbags with nothing more than a quick fix on their mind.
Further evidence that Junkie's should be locked away.

It goes without saying that it was extremely fortunate that a child did not pick-up or fall onto these syringes.

If people want to take drugs they will take drugs. No amount of government cash is ever going to change that.

The Government need to change tact, they need to legalise drugs and sell them. Just think of all the extra revenue that would bring to the treasuries coffers.

Just think, the legalisation of drugs could lead to a reduction in council tax! And for all you who start battering on about who wicked drugs are, lets not forget the legal killers of tobacco and alcohol.

But until the world sees sense, I have a few words to say to the low life who left the syringes - Hurry up and take an overdose!

Blind Woman enjoys going Down!

A blind woman, despite her fear of heights, took the bull by the horns and on Saturday abseiled 75ft down the west wing of Worthing Hospital for her favourite charity 4Sight, the West Sussex Association for the Blind.

Not long ago, at the place that I work, it was suggested that we all took part in an abseil for charity. A great majority of my colleagues took part, but the one that I admired the most was a lad in a wheelchair. That took a lot of guts!

I on the other hand opted out and now I wish I hadn't, especially after seeing these two people with such different disabilities tackle an abseil with confidence and ease.

Official - Mayor reopens a Building Society

Prominent Worthing Mayor Nick John officially re-opened the Abbey National Building Society in Chapel Road Worthing. Hurrah! What an adventure!

This must of been an exciting day that for all involved. This is just what Worthing required, another photo opportunity for the ex fish and chips man.

Not that I have anything against Mayor John, I simply think there are a lot better things that he could be doing in the borough, like tackling homeless issues, creating community projects for teenagers to stop them collecting on street corners.

Don't get me wrong, Worthing needs a Mayor, but please can we have one that is simply not just in the job to appear in the Worthing Herald each week. We need a Mayor who can take this rotting borough by the scruff of the neck and make it a much better place to live, visit and enjoy!

Reporting that so far they have thrashed their competition in the Battle of The Bands with an amazing 1,040 votes. Their latest single “Getting Over Me” has even impressed Cat Deeley and Jake from the Scissor Sisters.

Worthing Local Elections

You can tell that Summer is on the way when a person with a clipboard arrives at your door canvassing your vote.

Yes it's local election time, the time of year where would be Tony Blair's come to the fore and explain how they are going to make our lives so much better! We've all heard it before.

Well, I'd like to know what these idiots are doing, because lets face it, Worthing is a joke.

When returning to the borough we are greeted with signs telling us that Worthing is a tourist centre, a shopping centre and a business centre.

Well whoever placed those signs up should be charged under the trades description act. I'll tell you what Worthing is. It's a dull soulless town where nothing ever changes. Worthing exists in its very own groundhog day.

Some would say that it is good that Worthing has not changed that much in the last 30 years, but I ask you what is good about dwindling services and an acute lack of recreational facilities.

You tell me where are the children of the borough meant to go to enjoy themselves.

The council are a disgrace, the people running the council are a disgrace, there is too much bickering taking place between warring political factions and not enough constructive effort in taking Worthing forward.

Don't get me wrong, I do actually like living in Worthing, I think the town has some major plus points, but we are falling behind the times.

When the councilor elect comes to your door, harass them, quiz them, see how much they think they know about the town you live in, ask what they are going to do for you, ask what's in it for them? Surely such a position of trust should be sought without any remuneration, councilors should be elected for the love of the town, not for the love of their kudos.

If anyone can tell me what local councilors do to enrich our lives, then please feel free to leave a response, because all I know is my subscription fee to live in Worthing via the Council Tax is increasing beyond all reason.

I for one do not have a clue, and I doubt the person looking to canvass my vote has no idea either.
